Orthodontist

I mentioned a couple days ago Travis' new braces. We love where he goes and I just had to show it off...

This is not like the orthodontist of years past.. http://www.alizadehortho.com/

This is the coolest place, and I almost wish I had braces again so I could go there. Not only is there a movie theatre in the office, but all the chairs have tv's above them with a remote so you just sit there and flip through whatever you want while they tweak your wires! They have a little snack bar where you can have a cookie afterwards, and a fridge to grab a water or juice box.

They are very nice, so we aren't there just for the gadgets, but they know their stuff and have a top notch reputation around here....way cool stuff!

Politics

A new website that Paul sent me... www.realclearpolitics.com

It is a great site! Instead of trying to find all the articles and statistics regarding politico stuff..this place has all the links at your fingertips. Nifty.

Part of me is sick of it, and is ready to just ignore everything and go about my daily business, but then, if I did that...I'd look like an idiot at work when everyone is chatting about what the latest Republican gaffe was. I wouldn't want to look like an idiot, now would I?

So, check out the link, I think you'll like it....

5,980

What could this number represent?

How many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
How many smells Duke can smell when we are on a walk?
How many cherry tomatoes Travis could eat in one sitting if we didn't intervene. (you think I'm kidding?)
The cost of Travis' braces.

If you chose the braces answer, you win the prize!!! Please send donations in any amount in the interest of perfect teeth. They better be!!!

Yes, Travis got his braces on today, phase 2 and hopefully the final phase. These things are not cheap, and insurance just covers enough to be called a tease. Stunning, just stunning. But, we are going to the best place around here, and we are happy he is getting top notch fixing-up. But, wow... $5,980? Ouch...that hurts.

Bloggishness

Mom called yesterday, said she had a porcupine in her garage. I congratulated her, that isn't something that happens everyday. Maybe it's a good luck sign or something. She got it out after a ruckus, so that is good. Regardless, so after she got it out, she went on to tell me to write about it on MY blog.

OK...it didn't happen to me, so why would I put it on my blog? (even though I just did) It happened to her, so how about this. Make your OWN blog. Yes, you heard me... you have a Mac now (not that it matters what you use, I just had to throw that in there) ..you have the ability to do this, it isn't hard. Make your own blog because so many thing happen up there that are blog worthy. Call it "Page 2". You write 'page 2' once a month, but could have a blog called page 2. Put the link out there for all your people to read things in between the newsletters. (some may have computers) So there....that is a challenge I have put forth on the blog here for all 3 or 4 people who read it to see.....

Go to www.blogger.com and start!

I dare you... :)

Beans!

Tonight we eat beans...yes.. Fresh beans from our garden!! They are awesome and we are excited that our first experimental garden is a success. The lettuce is yummy and quite prolific, the beans look great and the carrots are slowly but surely doing their thing. The spinach is growing, but really slow and not ready to eat yet. Might need to do that earlier next year.

So, since the first phase was a success...in our eyes... Steve is out there with the Mantis digging up more yard for next spring as we hope to expand to tomatoes, zuchini and Travis' pumpkins.
